I am an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Nevada State College, a public four-year college in Henderson, Nevada. I am also Coordinator of the Departments of Social Sciences and Business Administration, supervising part-time instructors of psychology, sociology, anthropology, political science, public administration and law enforcement, communications, college preparedness, and business courses. As the only sociologist on campus I teach most courses related to the sociology minor, including Principles of Sociology, Gender and Society, Racial and Ethnic Conflict in the U.S., Social Inequality, Popular Culture, and Sex and Social Relations.

I received my degree in 2005 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, specializing in the sociology of agriculture. My research interests include the U.S. beef industry, technological adoption and innovation in agriculture, land ownership by racial and ethnic minorities in rural areas, gender and sexuality, and effective pedagogical techniques.
